There has been many changes of rules and regulations around COVID over the last couple of months and recent local changes are happening almost as we speak. A number of parents have been asking, quite rightly, where we currently stand with our COVID safety, so we thought we would update all parents.
After discussions with the Club Chairman and Youth Section Chairman, and following our governing bodies’ guidance, it has been agreed that the playing side of the club will continue with Stage D on the RFU “Return to Rugby” pathway for the present time. The COVID – 19 RFU guidelines and club risk assessments dated 29th August must continue to be observed during this period. These guidelines are, of course, subject to change. As and when further advice from the RFU and Local / National Government is received, any amendments or advice will be reported on this site. All our youth teams are able to carry on with training and preparing for the 2020-21 season. The youth section Track & Trace system continues to help us keep a record of all members of the section when attending training and games.
Many hours of hard work and commitment by the club management and the grounds team have made the club as safe as it can be. The Club and Training COVID Risk Assessments are in place for your safety. Please observe them and advice posters at all times.
The COVID Risk Assessments require the Members and Parents to disperse immediately after training. This is to avoid groups of more than 6 people congregating in 1 place, as per government regulations. The club itself is open and has a system in place for observing social distancing, conform to COVID regulations and ease of access and egress. You are more than welcome to “disperse” to the Clubhouse. In these difficult times, please help us financially by using the club facilities on training nights and on Saturday & Sunday mornings when food and drinks can be obtained.
If you have any concerns about how safe the club and its training are, or any other questions relating to COVID, please contact Dave Wild, the Youth Chairman, on YouthRugby@sprufc.co.uk or Paul Cihlar, on covid@sprufc.co.uk. Paul has agreed to act as the COVID lead person for Sedgley Park Rugby Club.
