RIP – John Lawrence
It is with great sadness that I have to report that John Lawrence passed away on Wednesday 12th March. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
John was an absolute stalwart at the Club in all the time that I have been here. He is most fondly remembered by the older club members for his wit and conversation. He was well known throughout the Rugby Community along with the Round Table and the wider local community for his expertise as an ‘after dinner’ speaker.
He served the club superbly in this regard and everyone who has been to a dinner where he spoke, including the pre-match lunches, will remember him with admiration.
His Funeral will be held at Stand All Saints Church, Whitefield, at 12:15pm on Thursday 27th March, followed by a cremation at Radcliffe Crematorium at 1:30pm.
Everyone is then cordially invited back to Sedgley Park Rugby Club for refreshments.
The Family have requested Family Flowers only. They have also asked for any donations to go to Bury Hospice and Neo natal Intensive Care Unit at Bolton Hospital
