Sedgley Park’s 2nd XV are in action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Chester’s 2nd XV in the Brooke Edgley Specialist Technical cup final.
The game will take place in Widnes and is a 3:30pm kick-off.
The match will provide Sedge with the chance to add a piece of silverware to the cabinet on the same day the 1st XV bid for promotion to National One against Chinnor down in Oxfordshire.
Chester won’t be an easy task for the 2nd XV as they topped their division, finishing 12 points clear of second placed Caldy while Sedge ended the season in the bronze medal position.
Sedge have won four of their last six matches ahead of this cup final while the newly crowned Cotton Traders Premier League champions have lost just one of their last 13 matches.
However, Chester’s sole defeat came against our 2nd XV back in February with the Tigers running out 47-19 winners so Sedge will be hoping history repeats itself this weekend.
