“We at Southport RFC are looking for support for an upcoming fundraising event, we are hosting Wooden Spoon Merseyside Vets on Friday evening 14th March in a match to raise funds and awareness for 2 great charities.
Wooden Spoon – The children’s charity of rugby, transforming children and young peoples lives through the power of rugby
Elsie’s Story – Elsie, a neighbour of Southport RFC was tragically killed in Southport last July and the charity is to focus on grants to young people and support for others in the community and across the region.
As well as the game we will be hosting a raffle and auction on the evening with some rugby related memorabilia. Many thanks to our friends at Leigh Rugby Club for starting the raffle and donating a signed Sale Sharks shirt, any further donations are gratefully received, contact details are below.
We would be grateful if you can share the invite amongst your club and vet players in the hope that we can have 2 fully committed sides on the evening. It would also be great to have as many spectators as possible showing support for 2 great charities from the North West Rugby family.
