As I am sure you are aware, the Rugby Tots Franchise has been sold and the current Franchise finished at the end of June. The Club has taken the decision not to renew the Franchise, but to put in place our own training session for young aspiring Rugby Players. We are calling this ‘Tiger Cubs’ and this will be open to children from 3-6 years old.
Initially, we are going to run this on Wednesday Evenings, starting at 6pm to coincide with the Under 7s and Under 8s Training. The aim is to start this on 14th September. Sessions will last 45 mins for 4-6 year olds and 30 mins for 3 year olds.
The Tiger Cubs will be managed by Gareth Payne and Hamish Orr, who will ensure that the sessions are fun and meet our high standards for the safety of the Children. Gareth and Hamish are both qualified RFU Coaches and have been previously involved with the Rugby Tots Franchise, as both Coaches and Managers. They will be in charge of the planning of the Sessions and managing the Coaches who are running the Sessions. We will be working with the College of Rugby to get the students at the College to take the Sessions as part of their studies. All coaches will be DBS checked and First Aid Trained.
We are going to try and make this more affordable, in the current climate. The first visit will be a taster session and completely free of charge. If your child enjoys this and wants to continue, you will be charged at £5 per session. Alternatively, if you want to commit to more sessions, there will be a charge of £18 for 4 Sessions (month) or £42 for 10 Sessions (Term).
